Controlled Opposition
01:29
|
|||
-CONTROLLED OPPOSITION-
Create the tone
Cast the first stone
Sharks out for blood
Become the victim
Discredit opposition
Ridiculous delusions
Crimes downgraded in comparison
Leak Opponents false information
Discredit sources through gaslighting
Support populists with no teeth
Absorb their movement when they break
Leashed leaders, led to support dictators
Too many lies to know what's reality
A storm of shit, too thick to see
Become a light, a voice of reason
Rational and even tempered
Believable, trustworthy
A leader, calm and steady
Someone with answers
Not just endless shouting
Discredit opinion
Control opposition
Bury the truth under false allegations
Construct an enemy, expose machinations
Threatened by purity, they must be a demon
Critics are silenced by public opinion

-YOU'RE YOUR OWN STRAW MAN-
Shift the argument
Maintain dominance
Disarm them first
A villain to destroy
Created as a ploy
A decoy
to celebrate the heroics of
the righteous warriors
Lose focus
Inside you'll find you share the same mind
The monster you fear is between your ears
A lifetime of lies to mask and disguise
Twining the straw
Projecting flaws
A show of strength
But, the enemy is fake
Shaping nations
Fear through fiction
Fighting fakes
with no retaliation
Demonize evil as fictional people
Resenting those that slightly resemble
Fear of the dark write oppressive laws
Make up a monster then drop the bombs
Fighting yourself, killing those around
So many casualties but no enemy is found
Pointing fingers, bear false witness
Insecure, mental prison
Stoke emotions for blind belief
Hating on an unseen enemy
Narrate their reality
Shifting attention from the conversation
Manipulating logic through emotion
Blinded and unable to think
The straw man has won the debate

-PEOPLE BECOME WHAT YOU MAKE THEM-
When you tell a child that they're bad
they adopt the identity that you give them
The friends they seek are a reflection of self image
will largely influence their experience
and the opportunities that they're given
Those who see the best in people, carefree
encourage what we can be
Live their life with less strife, always liked
Disarm yourself, others will follow, it's comfortable
People will fail if you expect them to
We're all influenced by our attitudes
So much mental disease stems from insecurity
Give respect to get respect
When you show fear and doubt
you spread it around
people will fear and doubt you

Lies Pollute The Mind
05:59
|
|||
-LIES POLLUTE THE MIND-
The brain controls the function of one's body
A polluted mind can't process properly
We're wired to maintain social stability
Dishonesty fosters fear, distrust, fragility
Altered synapse leads to lapse
From manipulation of the facts
Living a life of deceit is just needless worry
Ages you early, gives you disease, and hurts memory
We build prisons in our minds
Hiding from judgemental eyes
Trapping the truth to keep us safe
Stripping our soul and making us fake
It leads to distrust and suspicion of others
Subconscious projection, maintaining cover
Defensiveness will supersede
We start to loathe those we need
Pushing everyone close away
Retreating within, never fiding escape
The truth persists, must always come out
Sometimes as cancer, sometimes as gout
Psychologically damaging our mental capacity
Hindering judgement leads to irrationality
Dysfunctioning ethical compass
Leads us to dangerous decisions
Self loathing and regret
Creating extra mental stress
Grinding teeth, can't sleep
Writhing pain hidden beneath
A slippery slide that leaves us blind
Unable to determine what's wrong and right
Destroying our capacity for thought, relationships, and physical health
Limiting our experiences and making life unenjoyable
Live simply, live honestly, with love and clarity
Face your demons and let go of the burden
Rebuild society to let honesty happen
Instead of punishment, promote solutions
Encourage people to face mistakes
We will se more positive change

False Scarcity
01:16
|
|||
-FALSE SCARCITY-
Just a few companies control our basic needs
Motivated by selfish greed, it's harmful to society
Short production to inflate prices
Pioneers of the free market
Bankrupt, buyout, coerce competition
The evolution of capitalism
Lower prices to undermine uncooperative businesses
Watch profits climb, commercialize the sickness
Destroying local economies so that stocks will increase
Speculating with necessities while there's desperation and poverty
The result of winning is ending the game
A diverse economy gives long term gains
By killing your competitors you cripple the consumer
Without employment there's no purchasing power
Stifled by greed, lacking innovation
Unsustainable organization

-THE KNOWLEDGE OF EVERYTHING IS A STATE OF BEING-
Everything is connected, all knowledge is accessible
The universe is a library, information is available
Let go of ego and lose your sense of self
Become one with the love that can be felt
Shine light into the darkness
A universe in chaos
Too much for a mind to grasp
Organization causes mental collapse
All questions lead to more
There's just too much for order
Beyond the mortal brain
lies the knowledge of everything
No opinions, no existence, one with the universe
All answers with no questions alters the experience
See the paradox, beauty, and insignificance
Without struggle, everything is meaningless
I remain connected to my purpose
understanding the insanity of delving further
I find answers in a state of blankness
Calm relaxed and barely conscious
Control chemical reactions
Your mind has higher functions
All the wisdom of our ancestors
Past, present, and future

Arrogance Is Insecurity
03:52
|
|||
-ARROGANCE IS INSECURITY-
Overcompensation to influence opinions
Hijack conversation to fish for compliments
Humility is confidence, take time to self reflect
We must progress together to pay our karmic debt
A show of strength exposes weakness
Inadequacy exposed for all to witness
Live as a brand and forget to be human
Always promoting, not really living
Those who are the best have failed all the rest
Divisions aren't progress, everything has a place
We're only looking down at ourselves
personal failures, tasks unresolved
How much have we lost in our quest for glory?
Information suppressed, civilizations destroyed
There's nothing to gain in historical fame
To be worshipped by those you disdain?
And those you respect think that you're a jerk
stifling progress and making life hard
Showing off is childish, lacking in intelligence
Seeking recognition to mask negative feelings
Bragging is an obvious way to show that you're unsure of things
The real deal will sell itself, those lacking sell you dreams
Commercialize to hide all the fraud and lies
Larger than life but tiny inside

8. |

-POSSESSIONS FOSTER DISTRUST-
The more you have, the greater the loss
Possessions foster fear and distrust
It's hard to discern who's genuine
Friends may only want benifits
Suspicious, wary of strangers and potential dangers
Surrounding yourself with like minded neighbors
Gated communities removed from society
A perpetuation of inequality
Filling the hole with consumer goods
It keeps getting deeper with each new thing bought
Entitlement becomes governing law
Leaders elected for promising walls
Security force to hassle the poor
Protecting property and abusing their power
Flashy stuff that draws attention
Makes you resent their desperation
Honesty is hard to come by
When everyone's jealous of your money
Your car, your house, the clothes you wear
Make you question who really cares
Media generated steriotypes
get you judging in black and white
Fearing those with ugly clothes
All the poor are criminals
Surrounded by entitlement
your life becomes a competition
Losing touch with humanity
to build a fleeting legacy
Charity is supremacy
You can't help those you can't see
Kindness comes from guilt
easing self doubt
Evidence of goodness
measured in the dollar
Building a self image of altruistic giving
Looking down your nose with fear, disgust, and judgement
Condescendingly helping those poor creatures
Never getting to know them as human beings
We can't truly help each other unless we're willing to give everything
Get down in the dirt, dance and laugh, and sing
Understand other's issues as if they're our own
Eliminate divisions, invite them to our homes
Without desperation there's joy in sharing
We can only be free when we let go of possessions

It's All The Same Team
02:38
|
|||
-IT'S ALL THE SAME TEAM-
The left and right continue to fight
lost battles with no point
On the same team
destroying the game
Wings of the bird
flapping too hard
Rising to far
Pulling apart
Blame and disgust without looking within
Two sides of the coin, two hands of the demon
Manipulated through hatred
but only 'YOU' can see the difference
Everyone else can see a single beast
Unleashed to wreak havoc and conquer the weak
Pawns in the hands of selfish men
Destabilization of your own foundation
Convinced your enemy is half your body
Attacking yourself, adding to your own agony
Self righteous, defiant, a psychotic giant
Not hearing the screams of those crushed beneath
To gain the upper hand you'll stop at nothing
Lies and deceit, both sides are muddy
Ethics blur, boundaries are fuzzy
There's no finding middle ground
when the whole creature is diseased
It's time to put it down
and listen to new ideas

Deacons For Defense
02:02
|
|||
-DEACONS FOR DEFENSE-
Carrot or stick, there was always a threat
Dr King couldn't have marched without the help of armed men
History has been whitewashed, forgetting anger and aggression
It was fear that brought change not just kindness and compassion
We want to believe that when confronted, the right thing was done
But the suffering was ignored until there were black men with guns
The national guard to protect white society
Sent to prevent a race war from happening
Concession was forced, legislation a compromise
Symbolic gestures but the same hearts and minds
The effectiveness of strikes a temporary endeavour
would soon be replaced by immigrant labor
It took people coming together to form a militia
To exercise self defense from the Klan and police
To stand against their genocide and enslavement
A militant threat to the oppressive establishment
|
||||
11. |
||||
-THE TRUE HEROS HAVE BEEN FORGOTTEN-
Altruism doesn't need recognition
The truly selfless don't want celebration
No monuments
to mark a corpse
No gods or saints
or ridiculous legends
All are capable,
flawed, human
Heros are fictionalized
Ego seeks the spotlight
The humble just live life
Shared experiences provide the most joy
Exaltation separates
Everyone working together
the struggle of our ancestors
Time and place, a healthy state
Collectivity creates one's fate
History isn't written
from the perspective of the victim
Heros that give us comfort
are demons to the conquered
Idols to be worshipped
shift our morral construct
No one's completely perfect
All have conflicting conduct
Unrealistic expectations, idolatrous false image
When people are deified their acts are diminished
